I have GWAR's latest on rotation today. You know, it's just a really solid metal album. It's not a comedy/metal album. It's metal. I like it. (Still, of course, hail Oderus.)

Not bad, not bad at all! They remind me a lot of The Ocean.
The Danish sure like their Prog. One of my favorite Prog bands, Anubis Gate, is from there. Their self-titled album might just be my favorite Prog Metal album of all time.
I will check that out. You might like this (more Danish prog):
Thanks to the magic of truncated HTML titles in tabs, the tab this is in is labeled "Angel Gets Metal".
I will admit, this scene in the movie made me double-take. It's supposed to be set in 1983, after all.
TIL that Christopher Lee released several metal albums, starting at the age of 88. Mostly original works, but quick searching found this.
His biography reads like the Forrest Gump book - it's so over the top that it's almost unbelievable. Fitting song.
I like to think that whenever they go on tour the rest of the band has to lure Abbath out of the woods with hot dogs and booze.

Very cool! I hadn’t heard much from them since their old bassis Corey quit to pursue a law degree. I would have loved to audition for them but I don’t think there was any way it could have worked logistically(or financially, quite likely).

I found them via facespace feed. Some video had the lead singer and guitarist busking in the subway. First song was nice and whatever, and then they played death metal. The crowd reacts were awesome. I clicked on the other video link and it was the new album. Hit my rotation on spotify this morning.
The Hu are playing Aftershock this year on the same day as Joyous Wolf. Im apparently gonna have to go to Aftershock this year
