And sad. Old photos of Kingman in the late 40s makes me weep.

If I were going to use aircraft wings for my new roof I would want to be sure they were installed upside down.

    Just a thought.

We used to have the Cosmic Muffin here in Ft. Lauderdale. Old airliner body converted into a houseboat, complete with power. I've seen it many times, but it has apparantly gone to another area. Funky looking thing.

Not just an old airplane fuselage, but one of only ten Boeing 307 Stratoliners. First airliner with pressurization. I got to see a restored, flying one at Oshkosh a few years back.

There's a pretty good post-WWII movie ("The Best Years of Our Lives" ) that has some great footage of aircraft boneyards from the 40's.

Only recommended if you like B&W movies that somewhat clumbsily attempt to make human drama compelling on the big screen.

Somewhat OT: I read an article on Air & Space magazine's website a few months ago about a guy who runs an international repossession agency for airliners whose operators have defaulted on their leases and loans. It was pretty cool...

Oh the fun I would have with a sawzall, a cutting torch, and a toolbag in one of those yards.

Need some downforce on your track toy?...I got just the solution

I have repossesed a Lear jet for Nick and flown him around to airplane scrapyards. He should write a book, he is quite a character and a great guy.
