Dog makes meal of NC deputy cruiser's 4 tires

HOPE MILLS, N.C. (AP) — Some dogs chase cars. Advertisement

One in a North Carolina town decided to try and eat one.

The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office says a pit bull deflated all four tires of a deputy’s cruiser near Hope Mills on Sunday.

Spokeswoman Debbie Tanna says the deputy parked his car in a woman’s driveway while responding to her complaint about another dog.

When Deputy Lynn Lavallis went to speak with Gloria Bass, the dog chomped into the tires. The dog didn’t attack the deputy in the town near Fayetteville.

Tanna says the dog’s owner, Bass’s next-door neighbor, will be billed $500 for a new set of wheels.

I saw a news report the other day that a puppy (looked like a pit bull) had gnawed all of the toes off of a baby's foot. Mother later claimed she did not hear anything because she was "medicated".

that is one of my pet peaves. people say "rims", "tires", and "wheels" interchangeably...

my roommate used to say "I want to get some 20 inch tires for my car." I would always respond with, "okay, but they won't fit on your 16" wheels"

Dang, I guess I'm lucky that my neighbor's boxer only wants to be petted (and then marks my tires when I go inside.)

Dog law. What you pee on is yours. What you bite in half is their's. When you're done biting on it of course.

It's amazing how strong a boxer's jaws can be. One of my neighbor's boxer used to cruise the street and chew on stuff. One day I watched him bite a newly planted (about 1 1/2" diameter) crepe myrtle tree off at the base with one bite. I have no idea why a dog would bite a tree in half; it's only recently come back to life and started growing well.

We had a siberian Huskey that ate the convertable top and the interior out of my first Fiat.

The same dog used to eat his stainless steel water and food dishes, and when mad at you, would ram the house with his head just to break the asbestes shingles.

And no, we did not ignore our dogs. He was just a hardheaded Chewer
