I managed to escape my garage unscathed last saturday.

My injury of choice this year seems to be always managing to pinch my fingers and getting blood blisters. I lost count of how many I have had so far this year. I should probably be thankful as it could have always been worse.

A day without blood is like a day without sunshine.

I tagged myself on the grinding wheel. In my opinion, size being equal, abrasions are worse than cuts.

On these extended trips abroad, I almost get feeling back in my knuckles and my hands are eerily without scabs or grease in the cuticles.

Roger that. SWMBO says I can't be in the garage for one month before our son's wedding.

I was trying to get a piston out of a Ford 460 once, and it wouldn't budge. So with my hand on the top of it like a spider, I used the closest screwdriver, a long, skinny straight one, to pry under the top ring. Of course it slipped, and went right into the webbing between the index, and second finger. I pulled it out really quickly, so I'm not sure how far it went in until a bone stopped it, but it was WAY too far.

When I was building my first stock car, I was cutting some interior sheet metal out with a cutoff disc on a 4 1/2" grinder. Near the end of the cut, the disc caught something and shattered. The last little piece of metal broke off, and shot straight into my left bicep, like a knife. Left a nice scar.

i'm with ya... so far on the (S)wede-10 build the only blood given has been from busted knuckle on the oil pan seam of the iron dukes trans... and a few metal splinters... a little surprising being that i've been doing a good bit of angle grinder use and welding lol... but we're not done yet... so we'll see

You know those interior clip pin things? Usually used to keep trunk carpet on trunk "door" itself?

Do NOT try to take those off using two flathead screwdrivers on either side, prying upwards.

When lying under a car, while it was on jackstands, mig welding a bracket to the frame rails. I had a ball of molten weld fall INSIDE my ear canal! I almost knocked myself out trying to get out from under the car so I could roll over and get it out. I was literally seeing "stars".

we need to not mention injuries sustained from or while welding due to a hot piece of slag.

I used to spend weeks at a time on a lathe. You'd be surprised where burning hot metal chips end up when you're not paying attention.

The main issue I have is with debris falling off of the car and getting into my eyes. It even happens when I'm wearing googles or a face shield- except in those cases, it falls into my eyes from hair or forehead when I stand up and take the safety gear off.
