I lived in steubenville for a couple years. I never once saw an Amish member.
I was on numerous occasions fearful of getting cut; but not my hair, and not by that religious group...

The power tool bit may not be far off. A lot of Amish today are fully connected with smart phones and such. It tends to be the ones out in the real word who need it to run businesses so their families don't starve.
there were a few Amish families up around where i lived for the last few years.. one day i encountered a normal Amish buggy going the opposite direction- and the guy had a cell phone up to his ear as the wife held the reins and drove.. which brought up a couple of questions..
1) and Amish guy with a cell phone? how does he charge the battery?
2)the woman was "driving"- women's rights for the Amish?

They have to dress the part to avoid drawing attention to themselves. Since they don't pay the taxes it is the perfect cover for their massive meth industry. I am only partially kidding.
