    I love Foamy's take on this:

    NSFW (EAR-MUFFS!) but his rants are hilarious and fairly spot on more often than not.

    I fully agree with the OP. How many versions of Baby It's Cold Outside need to exist?!

    When you consider what that song appears to be about when you pay attention to the words, Im going to say none. Although it is rather funny how popular that song has gotten considering the subject.

    I love that song. Genius is an overused word, but I really do think it an apt description of Shane MacGowan. I dare not look at the man's teeth though.

    While Ms Carey is better seen than heard THIS is the worst Christmas song ever. Not sure how it even qualifies as a Christmas song but every year they trot it out just the same.

    This NSFW Christmas classic is always on my favorite list: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7o9TaldKpE0

    I've got a present for Santa And I know he's got a big one for me!

    The only Christmas songs I don't punch the off button to are Bing Crosby singing White Christmas (the song is meh, but Bing is the man and I feel it's rude to turn him off) and the ridiculous Holly Jolly Christmas. Why? Because childhood memories remind me of Burl Ives as a snowman and it makes me smile. But good grief Charlie Brown, if I hear 12 Days of Christmas or Grandma Got Run Over By a Reindeer one more time I'm taking a rifle up into a bell tower.

    Looks like I'm in the minority....

    For me, it's not Christmas yet until I hear, "Wonderful Christmas Time", "So This is Christmas" and the Harry Connick Jr.Christmas albums (which have both ones he wrote and standards).

    Does it make me cringe when modern singers do Christmas albums? Sure, but I think that has more to do with my age than them. I'm sure, for my son, they'll be classics when he's my age.

    Oh, and Santa, Baby is a great song.

    Eartha Kitt version - AAAAA++++
    Madonna Version - A+ (I am a child of the 80's)
    Taylor Swift Version - Uh....... does SHE know what the song's about?

    My favorite version of The Date Rape Song is by Louis Armstrong

    I generally hate Christmas music as well, but for me it isn't Christmas without mom putting on Bruce Cockburn's Christmas album.

    Much better singer than Yoko, and prettier than John:

    I almost always like cover versions better. They have a chance to think about the song and improve it.
