Don't believe a THING JG says. He's training to be a pirate. That's what all of the fencing and parrot nonsense is about.

How did I not know that you fenced? My stalking is coming up short. My wife fenced for several years, but had to lay off about a year ago due to ruining her knees doing it. She's currently going through various escalating treatments that will ultimately end up in surgery to one or both of her knees.

lolz at DILYSI for believing she ruined her knees fencing :-O

You know she can kick your ass, right?

Don't forget that some "instructors" should have never been allowed to open a Dojo. We had a local guy drinking with his senior students, he decided it was a good idea to shoot apples of each others heads with a .22 pistol. Yeah you guessed it, he shot his student right in the forehead. Sometimes "freestyle" means they don't know what the berkeley they are doing.

I'm frustrated because I love the style of TKD I did. I love everything about it. I practiced all the forms and self defense numbers by myself when I couldn't go to class (even to this day). The frustration is being told, "Hey we understand you spent 12 years earn your rank in another style. Now start from scratch". Sorry, I'm a pretty proud guy. That sounds like, 'we don't care what you did before us'.

First you must decide wether or not this school has anything to teach you. If you think you don't have anything to learn from them, then don't waste their time.

after that, then you have to decide whats more important to you. Learning something new, or recognition of what you already know?
