I see things like this all the time, especially on craigs. It's interesting to see misheard and misspoken colloquialisms and other sayings spelled out as people hear them.

Damn, treed me. I was just coming here with that very part on the clipboard to paste in, with a similar comment.

    Plus Won.

A friend of mine says "we have to nip this in the butt" all the time. Another one I hear all the time is "taken for granite".

Nipping it in the butt sounds like a GREAT ideal!

I hear people all the time, even those that should know better, say "I could care less"....... when of course they mean "I couldn't care less".... exactly the opposite of what they said...

If I say something to them all I get is a dumb, vacant eyed look... like what are talking about ? even if I then explain ... the same dumb , vacant eyed look...

"Thinks." I have my doubts on that one. "One's and a life time."

How about some toe jam from a Troglodyte foot that wears 2 year old Red Wings after a 12 hour shift, a piece of bacon chewed by a toddler, a used-and-removed staple and a disgruntled earth worm...going once...

Seriously, it makes you wonder about the level of education in the US. We see this in ads from all over the country. I have the same problem with customers from the islands. Are we that different? Really.

Oh. My. God. How does this guy get through life? I mean, that's the worst I've seen.
Funny thing is I came back to this post to post something I just saw on CL but it seems moot now. It's actually one of my pet peeves. I hear it spoken every now and again, but never saw it in print.
"I'd be willing to trade for a Jeep Wrangler, or something eltse"
But after reading that post, this 'something eltse' guy is a Rhodes Scholar.
BTW, thanks GRTechGuy for posting that.

my mother in law had some water damage in her house and now she keeps saying "re-inverse" when talking about the insurance co. paying her back. Lately its all we talk about as thats the current big drama in her life. I want to punch her in the face every time! Its especially irritating when I specifically say "REIMBURSE" in a sentence and she follows it with re-inverse. NO ONE IS TRYING TO TURN SOMETHING BACKWARDS AGAIN - THERES NO INVERSING A SECOND TIME HAPPENING HERE!!!AAARRRGGHHHH
