My company issued us all Ford Escapes as company cars reccently. They came with 6 months of free Sirius Radio. That is up now. Any leads to discount codes or methods of savings.
Do not expect that Sirius will contact me, the car is not registered in my name or address.

Easy. Call and cancel the service. They will bend over backwards to try to keep you subscribed. I had Sirius for a few years. When I cancelled it was like dumping my bi-polar girlfriend. She just couldn't let me go. I had to tag them as spam because of all the "great" offers they were emailing me with. Even had numerous phone calls that only ended when I dropped my home phone.

Well, the blues station is the only one worth listening to

My new Ram came with it. We'll see how things turn out after the year trial run expires...

I sell new Fords and the guy above is right. Call and cancel it. They'll break their backs to keep you. Every customer I sell a car to gets the "call and cancel" speech.

RE streaming Pandora, once Sirius expires on the Lincoln you can down load an ap to the car, not phone and stream Pandora automaticaly using SYNC and your phone, this isn't just using the phone, but fully controlled through the car. The re-up I mentioned above is for the Volvo where I can't do that.

call to cancel. they will be like "we can cut your cost in half" and be all "sorry dude i cant afford it" and they will be like "well i just cant let you go without telling you i can give you 5 months for $20"

i am about to do that, because i really can not afford it. my cousin does that every 5 months and it has been 3 years so far and they keep giving her $20/5mo

My co car had free Sirius for a year. That would have been August. I'm still listening to Tiffany Granath on Playboy 99.

Buy it in bulk. Kind of like a GRM subscription, the ten year price is dirt cheap compared to the month to month price. I buy a minimum of 4 years at a time.

My Sirius just expired off my new Ford and when we checked it out the "special deal" we were supposed to get for buying a Ford turned out to be exactly the same deal you got when you went to the website blind and didn't go to the special Ford page.

They just shrugged and blew me off when I called. I did get a follow up letter last week, but not special deal there either.

I definitely prefer Sirius to COMMERCIAL radio but dang it's expensive!

We listened to all the period music (50s-60s-90s) music as well as the Comedy channel and even Showtunes on a long trip. It was nice to have the variety. My wife keeps threatening to reup but not without a deal.

Yep, there's a 138 page thread on fatwallet.com about SiriusXM. You should be able to get 5 months for $20; if they won't offer that at least you should be able to get a year for $77. Just call to cancel and decline their offers until you get what you want, and don't be afraid to just ask for it. Be nice though.

My CPO BMW came with the Sirius activated. I figured it was a 3 month trial. That was 28 months ago and it's still on... PO must have bought the lifetime plan and not transferred it to a new receiver. I can't call and ask for the internet add on without paying to transfer the lifetime subscription to my name, so oh well.

...and here I've been paying for the damn thing on autopay for the past 5 years

Worth every penny, so I don't really mind.

So... In order to get the 5 months for $20, do you have to wait until your re-up time or do you just call and say "I want to cancel my service, please refund me my unused subscription."?

It is lifetime of the radio, not the owner. You can't transfer it to another unit. I don't know if they will charge you for the web upgrade though..

Commercial radio is dead to me. I can't tell you the last time I've listened to an FM station (I do partake the occasional AM talk show that's not on Sirius). The incessant blaring commercials and repetitive top 40 music of the latest chosen teen star I can do without. The cost is minimal. I find that I don't have to buy nearly as many music CD's as I used to so it evens out.

Now if I could only get ala carte DirecTV life would be perfect.

Good info here. I knew I could count on you guys!

So, I have to start paying for it, then quit. Do you think that I can get the 5/$20 deal after being a customer for just one month? I suspect that larger plans like a whole year have early termination fees.

This. I LOVED my Sat Radio, especially when I was driving. But my traveling has slowed considerably and my last road trip I used the iPhone with Pandora and it was awesome. Saved me $12 a month

I get a few US FM stations where I live, and HOLY COW you get bombarded with commercials.

I'm too cheap to pay for radio.

Round here the FM stations suck. I am constantly amazed at the crappy radio in a town the size of Atlanta. Top 40, country and rap. That is all. None of them are my forte and I cant get AM in the shop. I have thought about digital radio but Im afraid it will suck just as baddly as FM broadcast. I cant get sattelite in the shop either and internet radio has been blocked by the web Gestappo. I go to the pubic library on my day off and get about 10 audio books. That will last me thru the week.
