Recently bought some trail mix from the BSA to support my nephew's local troop, kinda pricey there but ain't no problem for a good cause but I'm hooked on trail mix again.

After I ran out I found the local stores don't stock it so I started to make my own from the grocery store. Party peanuts, cashews and/ or mixed nuts plus raisins and M&Ms for the basics.

Anybody have a fav recipe for above basic trail mix, don't wanna get too hoity-toidy on ingredients here, just lookin' for stuff available at any grocery or outlet that I mighta missed.

Trail mix always sounds like a good idea until I'm halfway through it and then I have to struggle to finish.

I have though recently developed a string cheese addiction.

    Mozzarella FTW.

Gotta agree... Although adding crumbled bacon to the trail-mix can give you just enough energy to get you to the dairy aisle.

Peanuts (with skin), almonds, raisins, cranberry, chocolate, pecans.

    I can't stand cashews.

The Great Satan Wal Mart sells different versions in large resealable bags. The tropical version is my favorite, it has banana chips, papaya, pineapple, mango, all kinds of good for ya stuff. The version with M&M's and assorted nuts is good, too.

We used to call it GORP: good ol' raisins and peanuts.

The answer to your question is an unqualified "yes!"

This place is nuttier than a fruitcake.
