I see things all the time on there I'm interested in, but am hesitant to bid. Has anyone used the site?

Whoa. That site is going to cause some damage to my wallet. Too much good stuff in my area. Thanks!

I have, many times. I buy and re-sell at a profit. It's the gubment so everything is more complex and slower than it needs to be.

Yes! Bought a lift and it was pretty straightforward. A later purchase had some parts that got lost but we straightened it out.

I haven't yet but I just spent an hour looking through it at things I could buy.

My friend buys stuff from them. It's especially handy for him as he lives near a military base and just buys stuff at that base. He can go look at it before hand and pick it up in person.

To me this appears as a dead link?

I have looked, but it is not like using e-bay. You have to go to the location and pick up the item in most cases, or arrange to have someone else do it. My area doesn't have bases with anything cool like old tanks or attack boats. I mostly see old rusty snow plows.

There is also a site for things seized by the feds. My favorite listing was a van seized in a drug raid that was full of bullet holes!

What caliber bullet holes? I bet you could cut those out and sell them on eBay as Genuine Bullet Holes so people could put them on the back of their cars instead of those stoopid stickers.

gah, dont tell folks about govdeals

those places rock cause they are practically secret lol

actually the price of everything on stealitback.com (police auction website pinchvalve mentioned) jumped up after all the news outlets mentioned it.

if you go on stealitback look for the trench coat silhouette dude in the corner of the image, that means its not surplus its gen-u-ine confiscated property, the site teamed up with some surplus auction places a few years back. Its a great place to get some slightly used radar detectors :D, 12 bicycles, or a pallet of random junk.

There was even an auction there for a suitcase full of fake money the description said to put a 20 on each end and fool your friends.

Does anyone know of anything similar for Canadians? I've found a website for the federal government http://www.crownassets.pwgsc.gc.ca/ but does anyone know of anything else (provincial, city etc)? The only really cool thing I found on the federal site was this hovercraft (only $1.1 million).

I realize you need to go pick up the stuff at the base, but still there seem to be great deals to me.

Not to threadjack or anything, but the best Cdn Coast Guard/Guarde Cotiere thing I ever saw was an official red truck labelled "Search and Rescue Prevention." My wife and I discussed this at the time, and decided that search and rescue prevention is when they take a boat out and hit you repeatedly and on purpose.

You may now return to looking for seized Challenge-worthy cars.
