I know how much we all love our driving sims on here, and while Driver certainly isn't a hardcore sim, who doesn't want to have epic chases through a busy city environment?

The new trailer is here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1mMFUyxWlYY

I love the line, "There's only one thing I need, a car that can handle my rage...a car with REAL muscle."

A close second, "Traction control? Never heard of it."

I played the hell out of the first two driver games that came out for Playstation. God those were fun.

    Sweet. I love that series.

Hot damn, I loved the first two way back when... this is certainly on my list.

And in a rather unusual tie-in, you get a free travel mug with the title of the game on it when you reserve it at Gamestop.

Guess you need coffee if you're chasing down dangerous fugitives.

When I saw that there is a Pacer AND Vista Crusier in the game, I knew I needed to own it.

    Haven't ordered it though.

I played the original driver again recently... and realized why I loved but hated it. Controls that reacted 1/2 second after you did them, horrendous framerate issues, and ill-handling cars. I loved it when I was younger, but now I wonder WTF I was thinking. And the 2nd one was essentially non-playable due to framerate issues.

As I remember these were 70's era cars... so you are saying it was very accurate sim

If you have every watched any of those 70's movies with the (floaty bouncy hub cap spewing screaming bias ply) cars chases you have a better idea of what they were going for.

Somebody please add an appropriate youtube car chase link (Dirty Harry movies would be a good place to start)

Check out the pure handling excitement behind Mr Hackman:

Nope, floaty and bouncy is fine, literally nothing happening when hitting the controls for half a second is poor interface, nothing to do with the simulation part. I understand what you are saying, but it was poor game design not superb realism.

Wow. I had no idea that they were still making this series at all. I may just have to do the preorder and get a rockin' new mug.

Despite how badly it was reviewed, I enjoy Driv3r (Driver 3) pretty thoroughly and still play it on a fairly regular basis. Its fun to just screw around on.

Driver 4 was ok, I have that one too.

I quit after I found Driv3r to be all but unplayable. I'm intrigued by this new one. I will probably pick it up used if the reviews pan out.

I don't remember any frame rate problems at all, and I still have the first two games in the series.
