Because parts of your body continue to grow (like your ears!!!!), I've heard a few folks say that laser eye surgery is never "permanent"....that is, they "grow out of it".

I've heard noses continue to grow as well.

And your hair and nails continue to grow after you die.

Not true, your body actually shrinks slightly, making it appear that your hair and nails have grown. Source

Back on topic: Tim had Lasik, and loves it.

If you vision is stable, you shouldn't grow out of it. However, you'll still end up having vision problems as you age because the lens loses flexibility.

A good friend had PRK several years ago and wishes he never had. His big complaint: at night all the street lights etc seem to have halos. It's been a real PITA for him and for that reason my peepers still get corrected the same way Ben Franklin's did.

The same results in my family My Doc won't reccomend it.

Besides, I Need to wear safety glasses about 12-16 hours a day. With my dumb luck, I'd have perfect surgery .. and then blast weld slag deep into it and end up looking like a Pie-rat.

Well ok day 3 and I still can't read the computer too well, hace to glance at it here and there. But I believe that I'm going to be seeing really well once I've healed up!

Ok so day 4 is MUCH improved over day 3 I can read the compure screen (still wearing sunglasses though) Tomorrow I get the bandage contacts out so we'll see (no pun intended) how things look.

Much improved so far almost as good as with my glasses before the surgery, and I have large pupils so I already had the Halo's around the lights at night, so it wasn't a deal breaker for me.

I got Lasik a few years ago, but come the day of the operation they discovered that for some reason, one of my eyes needed the PRK procedure instead. I see awesome now, but the eye that they did PRK to took like a month to heal enough for me to see normally.

    Go for Lasik!

Not very grassroots is it? (well, compared to staring at laser scanners or arc welders...) Kind of smacks of rich-guy, douche-baggery if you ask me.
