I am looking at buying this to convert my car to an Aerocoupe. Rather than ship back the whole car I'm tempted drive down and cut the pieces off I need and tie them to the Cavalier.

i don't think the pieces you need to get are too big to fit into a Cavalier with a flip down rear seat. you might have to leave the passenger seat home, tho..

you only need the package tray, trunk lid, and anything that goes along with it. it looks like the package tray would be the biggest/most cumbersome piece, and that's maybe 18" wide.

you might wanna bring along a thick blanket to keep you from cutting your arm to pieces on the jagged metal parts that you will be using as an armrest for the drive home..

it's too bad the window got busted out- that's the part that's gonna cost you some $$$ to get..

do a google search for the guy that's making his GN into a GN Aerocoupe to see all the unique pieces..

Cut the car at the B Pillars. Weld on a tongue. Tow the rear half of the car back home.

And you'd fit right in here in the South. Cool project though!

Looks like you would need fenders and maybe C pillars too.

You may want to source that rear window first. They are nearly impossible to find affordable.

I pass a Pontiac version for sale near Atlanta. Very cool cars.

The thing that gets me on the Pontiac 2+2 is just how bad the trunk opening really is.

Here is an example that was converted to a real hatch.

Ice at Ice's House of Hack might lend one. It's a mini truck and rod shop.

This might be close to the winner. I'm waiting to find out what shape the front end is in. If it's good I may drag it back with a tow bar and sell the steering box, swaybars and rear end when I get it back. I have found two rear windows near by so I just need the sheetmetal

Sad to see this happen to a nice SS, much less an Aerocoupe. Glad to see it may be saved in some way. If nothing else, grab that trunk lid and rear bumper!!

I used to live in Slidell. I was sad to hear they rebuilt the town after Katrina. Don't talk to natives when you're down there. Actually, stop, hook up the purchase and leave in a prompt fashion.

Slidell native here, though I live about forty minutes down the road now. Sadly, no sawzall to offer.

Saw this 2+2 the Friday before last in Illinois, and it looked nice, but I'm guessing that you don't want this price if you're thinking about that one in Slidell.

their ugliness served a purpose- win at NASCAR at a time when the cars had to use production body parts. GM had to do something to keep up with the sleek new Fox based T birds, and this is what they came up with.

the Monte and GP Aero cars pretty much outclassed everything else on the 1 mile and bigger tracks..

thee is a guy that has a pretty badass GP with a Chevy 502 in it that races in all the open road events. he goes nearly 200mph in a production mid 80's GM body with only a set of Lumina Z34 hood vents added to it..

I've seen that car, it is a work of art!
