So who's training for what?  Running, fighting, biking, etc?  I'm training for the 2018 Marine Corps Marathon.  This will be my 4th consecutive MCM, and my 6th full marathon in as many years.  I'm training for a PR but will be happy if I make it to the finish without the wheels coming off.

I'm not training for any specific event, but my goal this year has been to continue slowly losing weight and to get more fit just to improve my life.

I spend less than 5 minutes a day. 50 push-ups every other day and 50 squats on the opposite days. I've been doing that since January. Sometimes I have the kids (2 and 3) sit on my back for push-ups or hold them and toss them for squats (they LOVE "kid squats").

The difference is incredible, and my consecutive pushup ability went from like 30ish to about 60ish now. I haven't done pull ups all year, but I can normally do 6-7. Yesterday at the park with the kids I busted out 10 no problem.

I’m training for the challenge by staying up a little bit later every night and then trying to function the next morning

I'm trying to train myself back onto a more normal sleep schedule. This 10 hours a week thing sucks.

I've been thinking since May about staying a pushup thing like Robbie mentioned, but aside from figuring out I can still do them haven't gotten very far.

A bicycle shop I go to sponsors a challenge every year on a regional biking forum.  Ride at least an hour every day in July. Rain or shine. Record it on Strava or similar, bring the records to the shop and get a $100 GC.  I am now 28 days into this.  29 if I include the ride I did on June 30. A lot of rides were done first thing in the morning before getting ready for work, since I often had plans after work.  Plus, we've had some insanely hot and humid weather lately and it's much more pleasant to ride at 4 AM than a 4 PM.

So far I'm about 32 hours and 456 miles for the month.

My legs are so berking tired...

I forgot to weigh in at the beginning of the month, so I'm not sure if I've lost any weight, but it does seem like my pants fit better around my waist and butt.

Coincidentally, I'm going on a biking vacation in VT on Aug 1, so if the weather cooperates, I'll end up with about 36 days straight of riding.

I'll be training to go back up pikes peak next year. Doing the pikes peak ascent. Barely hit the cutoff last year but a full year living at altitude I'm hoping for a much better result.

I've been off the bike too much for too long. About this time last year I was getting ready for the wimp option on my favorite shop's big annual ride. This year there is no wimp option and I'm quite sure I can't get ready for a 90-mile/9000' day in the available time, so it must be time to start thinking about cyclocross season.

Having been in this position too many times both makes me aware that it comes back at a reasonable pace with work, and makes me even more impatient with being slow even by my own standards...

I'm getting into better shape so I can hike the Appalachian trail. I've been running between 30 to 50 K a week for the past 2 years and I go section hiking whenever I can.

I train 5 days a week, I'm a gym rat.  Mostly lifting.  What am I training for?  Keeping up with my wife, who's a ripped and powerful machine.

I was trying to hit the 1000lb club by the end of the year, but I may have been sucked into a fitness competition with some guys at work that will start next week.  The E36 M3ty part is it involves running.  The good part is I will get better at running.

1000lb club here when healthy. Want to get up to 1200 which is my new goal but still waiting on my shoulder to feel better.

Right now if I could do a few muscleups I would feel pretty good about myself.

I'm training to do a 6 day cycle tour from Manitowoc to Ludington via the northern lake Michigan circle route.

I'm on vacation in New Hampshire and rode up Mt Kearsarge on a 53 mile route.   It was hard 4500 ft of climbing is a lot for someone used to 1000' on a 70 mile day.

Sounds like a cool LBS.  I love riding, but I just don't have time for it anymore.

This year I turn 60. Our son, number 3, is 12.  His Go Kart now weighs 205 lbs, the combined weight including the driver and gas has to be 310 lbs.

The drivers dad always picks up the heavy end of the kart.  I have four more years until he can drive a car at our events.  So I focus on core training and stretching.

I want to go ultra.  I want the endurance to go on the road like Forrest Gump and run until I'm done.  Cycling too.  I would love to be able to go on loooooong rides whenever I feel like it.

Unfortunately, I am fat and in poor shape.  I'm need to train just to start training.  This thread is actually motivating me to get dressed and go run.  Thanks!

I am in very good shape at 52. But I have not swum as an adult. My 15 year old  son is a nationally ranked swimmer and he is in the pool 20 hours a week. He routinely does 3 to 6 miles over two practises a day. I thought I would add swimming to my routine because I am at the pool so often and I was absolutely shocked to find I can only swim 100 meters without having to stop. So that really pissed me off and I am now training to swim a mile without stopping.

I'm training for longevity. I'm a few months shy of 70. Even though I have painful arthritis in my fingers, shoulders, and hips, I'm focused on making it well into my eighties. Despite a proclivity for gin martinis and Bordeaux wine, I'm doing everything else to extend my time here, including having lost 25 lbs. since last September. I have annual physicals, take the right meds, don't have any stress in my life anymore since retirement, and get plenty of interesting social interaction.

training to lower my bp. Last physical it was up. Started walking every day. And quickly got up to walking an hour every day. It works out to about 3-3.5 miles every day. In about six weeks my bp has dropped 25 points.
