C'mon. It's got rear suspension, at least, so it won't shake the inverted coke bottle fuel tank out of the rag that ties it to the fuel line.

That lawn chair- wonder if it just sits there. What is the purpose for this thing? No cargo area, no additional seating, just one lucky driver. Is he on his way to work as a customer service agent for your insurance company?

He's crazy - the road is wet and there is no tread left on that back tire. That could be dangerous.

Independent rear suspension, too. :) I saw a lot of similar vehicles in Taiwan, although they usually had a thatched roof on them.

I'm not gonna lie, if I were at a pub and he showed up on that thing, I'd definitely buy him a pint.

I bet sitting in an unbolted lawnchair is a safety feature. Being a three wheeler, I would not want to be strapped in when it flips.. at least this way you get thrown off before you ever reach those sorts of flip over speeds

It looks like somebody attached an IRS and a lawn mower engine on to a $295 Harbor Freight trailer, then grafted part of a wrecked golf cart on the front of it.

You could probably build one just like that for less than $600 if you sourced the gas tank from a dumpster.

In CA as long as it passes emissions it is OK to drive on the road. It's up to the police to enforce any safety issues.

No safety inspection whatsoever. You can go through smog with bald tires, no brakes and worn out suspension and for all CA cares, as long as it's clean and stock under the hood, you're good to go.

If India has such poor safety standards, why are there so many Indians? Shouldn't they all be dying in horrific accidents?

Thats actually just a rickshaw with no rear bodywork on it. most have a bench seat in the rear & a top on them

I've been to india and thats not an uncommon site. I was told that around 2005 or so all the rickshaws went from 2 cycle engines to 4 cycle engines. Streets were incredibly smoky when I was there (2007), I could not imagine what they were like full of 2 stroke smoke....

I still think we have too many safety rules and maybe stupid people should be allowed to remove themselves from the gene pool
