My Amish-built pre-fab shed is 10+ years old and needs a new roof. I'm talking simple, three tab asphalt shingles, nothing architectural,  preferably from Lowes or Home Depot. Which ones do I want? I need another 20 years out of this thing.

The 25 year ones should last 15 years ...

Whatever is on the shelf in the color you want. I did my rental with IKO and my sister’s house with owens corning.  They’re comparable.  Did my parents house about 22 years ago with certainteed 25 year ones and half of that has been redone in the last 4 years

What's more important than manufacturer is weight.  You want 180 lb / square minimum fiberglass / asphalt.  Heavier is better.  A square is 100 sq feet.

Are they rated as pounds per square on the package?
