At the Waterbury-Oxford Airport in Oxford, Ct. It's one of the last 14 flying B-17s, "Aluminum Overcast". Tours are $5 to $15, and rides are $400. Yes, rides. Not cheap, but, when are you going to have the chance to go up in one. Just seeing how small these are is impressive. And, you want to hear those radial engines roar. Great stuff. Newspaper printed a link to see the restoration and a ride: courant.com/b17

Nice way to spend part of a nice day.

ARGH: IT'S WESTERN CT.!!! There's got to be a way to edit titles...Tom, can you change it to Western Ct?

Waterbury is western CT unless you live in Fairfield county.

That's about five minutes away from my house.

Unfortunately, I am about five hours away from my house this weekend.

Which is why I typically date western Mass girls.

The Yankee Air Museum in Ypsilanti offers rides in their B-17 fairly regularly. The Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum in Hamilton.Ontario offers Stearman and Harvard rides, too. One of these days I'll get up in one of these old birds.I've been fogged out at Hamilton twice over the years.

For westerners, the Reynolds Museum and Canadian Aviation Hall of Fame has bi-plane rides throughout the summer. This place is worth the trip. Trust me.
