That's good to hear. When will you be back on the mountain bike? I still wanna come down and ride with you some time.

Doctor says to still wait a while on the mountain bike, and I don't want to break all my fancy new cartilage.

Like, 22 MPH average for 30 miles? Solo? That's moving.

Our group rides usually average ~20-21mph and we are generally clipping along with a moving speed of 25-26mph. The best I can do is a solo average of 19. Big props to you for >20mph average.

Yep, 22 mph average for 30 miles.

And I did the same loop on Sunday with my old riding group, averaged 20, albeit in a paceline.

pacelines are awesome :)... i'm a fatty at #300... did the tour de cure a year back the 100k (62miles or so) had never gone that far... was rolling on a rigid 29er with 38mm slicks... using a titec H bar gave me a resonable "aero" position... we tucked into a nice long pace line for the last 15 miles or so miles and I was amazed at how easy it was to go fast.... I sold that bike (already had my primary MTB 29er) and built up a roadie...

not near as fast as you on it... but i've been on 2 wheels maybe 4x over the last year (beyond a jaunt around the block with the kids) :(... and 2 of em have been in the last week.

either way... good to hear things are fixing themselves :)... knee probs are bad :-/

When I messed up my knee running (IT Band) I found the bike to be the best form of pain relief I had. When I wasn't on the bike it hurt like hell all the time.

I'm a fan of single speeds between fixies and single speeds. Your knees will thank you also.

92dxman, i see what youre saying. my other idea was to just have both on a flipflop hub, but i just really have been enjoying my 10 speed. i wanna leave it as is for now

Flipflop hubs are a good route too. I have one on my second bike.
