    Hey all,

Ive been away for a week or so. My 25 year old nephew died in a motorcycle accident and it really sucked. were still waiting for the official report, but so far, there is no indication from the police he was doing anything wrong. a truck made a turn across traffic, and either he didnt see the truck, or the truck didnt see him. either way, tragic results. We have a large very supportive family, and we are coping as well as can be expected.

But I could use a little help. I need a recommendation for a auto shop in the Vienna/Tysons corner/ falls church area of Virginia. My nephews Toyota Matrix , I cant even tell you what year, needs a clutch and a good going over. the only reason he was on the bike that night, was because of the clutch going out on his car. I did take a quick look, and there is some pedal pressure, fluid level seems okay, so im guessing the clutch is burnt up.

the car will be sold once its repaired, and funds from the sale will go towards my nephews Two year old daughters college fund. But my sister needs a trustworthy mechanic that is willing to just take care of it with minimal hassle and a fair price. the last thing she needs right now is to worry about the car...

We would sincerely appreciate any recommendations. I may be able to go back there in two weeks, but i dont think ill have enough time to do the work myself. I have other related items I am helping to handle for my sister that are a higher priority right now. thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Your man is Alan Himes at Craftsman Automotive in Falls Church. Shop's off 7 behind Beyer Volvo. He's runs SCCA, too, so one of the brethren. He should be able to fix things up right.

failing that, Leesburg Toyota on 7 just outside of leesburg (just follow 7 west until you get to Cardinal Park Drive, then hang a left, and it should be either the 3rd or 4th entrance on your right) should be able to help. my condolences go out to you and your family

There's no good way to continue, but to just continue. Try the 2 shops mentioned above, and remember the good times. They always trump the blues.

    My condolences, as well.
