I'll be driving through later this evening and was planning on stopping somewhere to get some good BBQ.
I'm more a pulled pork/brisket guy instead of ribs.
Any suggestions?

Charles Vergos' Rendezvous is perhaps the most famous in the area and I think it is worth a stop. The Dry-Rub ribs are the signature item and are highly recommended, but their pulled pork is also good.
Mmmmm.... !
Breakfast here this morning is gonna be tough, Oatmeal just can't compete with the mention of BBQ !

I made sure to stop there when I went to Memphis last year. Glad I did!

Quite overrated. Passed through Memphis a week ago. You want Tom's, or if you're looking for off the beaten path, Cozy Corner.
Can't comment on the pulled-pork though, nobody can do it right cept' the Georgians or the Carolinians.
^Looks like Cozy Corner may be a winner, just by virtue of its proximity to I-40.
The wife doesn't know yet that I'm not letting her go to sleep in Memphis and we will go ahead and continue through to Nashville.
Lots of good BBQ places, but if I had one meal in Memphis, I'd do tamales and chili at Blues City.

The rib tips I got from Cozy Corner came wet, as a heads up if you're looking for dry.
I've never been, but I'd think a mediocre BBQ joint wouldn't last very long in a mecca of BBQ--kinda like how mediocre Italian restaurants don't last long in RI.
I've heard good reviews about Leonard's. I definitely need to take another trip back to Memphis.
