Tuesday I fly down to Trinidad for a job interview. I have what they need, money sounds real good, wife is supportive, but still... Moving out of the USA is a big deal. I love the Islands and the people, but this is a really major move. I will be going to a meeting about a $1MUSD security system on Wednesday, really serious opportunity. Lot's more as well. I want it to work, really love grand adventures, but it is still scary. Comments?

Go for it. Do not hesitate. You miss an opportunity like that and you'll want to kill yourself later in life. International experience will look perfect on the resume. Companies love it. When you want to move back to the states(well if), you'll have plenty of great opportunities.
I got a job that will move me every 8 months for 2 years with a good possibility that it will be international. My wife is supportive, but still It's scary to fathom it with our newborn. Being a TARP sucking, Bonus getting executive type, Here I come.
edit: caveat: make sure that the position is a really good fit.

Trinidad is all about business. Huge oil and petrochemical industries. Strong industrial geowth. Lot's of crime, semi-corrupt government. Lot's of very wealthy people. My speciality is CCTV systems, and the market is set to explode. The company is well connected. My concern? Crime against ME! Kidnapping is a real threat, though nowhere like Columbia or Mexico. Harsh gun laws, so you can't carry without an extremely difficult permit. I have good friends there, including a couple of racers, so will have a built in support group. My kids, grandkids and great grands will come to visit. (Yeah, I'm that old) I'm going to do it unless things go badly next week, but I doubt that will happen. Anybody with real experience in electronic security systems, or bodyguards , as well , will be employed 15 minutes after they clear customs.

I wouldn't want to settle in the Caribbean permanently, but it would be a nice place to live for a year or two.
Actually, my only caution is about raising kids there. My little brother went to high school in the USVI, and generally hated it. Not a great place for a kid that age. But it sounds like you're not going to have that issue.
Just don't live on a boat. It works for some, but not for most.

Drugs are a big problem there. They make a 10 mile run to Venezuela in 30' Pirouges (Like a thick canoe- 150hp outboard), pick up cocaine and pot, run back to the island. From there mules take it to Europe and US. They catch several a day at the airport, but many get through. Do not get caught with any by the cops- you go away for a long time if you don't get dead. No, I'm not concerned about schools for the kiddies, I'm 63 and through with that. I have no plans for living on a boat. Did meet a guy with an off-shore race boat that was not used for smuggling. I think.
