Old MGs were made with fabric bodies over a frame, too. I think they used ash for the frame, mostly.

It's refreshing to see a hood system like that, the phallus has dominated automotive design far too long. Also the whole fabric concept gives new meaning to the name "fire wall"
But seriously kind of cool. The fabric bodies have been around for quite a while but this is neat in that they are using the fabric to make the shape of the car easily changeable. Kind of neat to see the design evolution too, istead of continuing improving current technology, it goes back two where the the monocoque split off from the space frame and branches off in a new direction.
