Glad to hear you got rid of norton, I would have tried a system restore, dug me out of a few problems.(Seems you don't need to come in contact to pick up a virus). Never had a problem with my linux machine.

I dual boot Ubuntu and OS X.

I'm even more equal because I run Ubuntu on a Parallels VM, so both it and OS X are running at the same time.
All animals are equal, some animals are more equal than others.
