I think the passenger in that RV-6 was killed.
Yes apparently.

If you watch some of the old videos from WWII you can see lots of examples of fighter planes with tail wheels taxiing in a zig-zag pattern or with the crew chief sitting on the wing as a spotter for the pilot. The pilot couldn't see anything in front of him in most of these planes when on the ground.
Local to me and happening now. Photo credit to First State Update.

Is it a Mazda? That's really taking the rotary branding a bit far. Or is it for rolling across furrows?

I wish I had a picture, but I don't. My grandfather was a coal bomber during the Berlin Airlift. The pilots that could manage it were not given airport landing duty and instead dropped coal out of bomb bays on specially prepared streets on an obviously very strict schedule. He told my dad stories about seeing people inside their apartments just off of his wingtips.
Pic unrelated, Thunder Tank at Walmart

That's at the brutalist end of the spectrum, but I love old industrial vehicle design (if design's even the right word in some cases)... Yesterday's experience with an Isuzu NPR had me wondering whether it was a matter of design, construction, dampers, being one weight rating lighter, or just being a COE instead of a conventional that made it so much worse riding than the Internationals I used to drive delivering parts. It made me worried that my completely insane and terrible hope of owning an old Ford medium-duty cabover is even worse than I'd thought.
Pic is, I think, a heavy truck of similar era to the mediums that call to me. I love the corrugated headlight surround on this one, though.
EDIT: Crap, I can't believe I didn't see that it IS one of the C-series cabs stacked on top of a taller grille-and-headlights arrangement. The original headlight areas aren't punched out, and the lip for the wheel well is there, just not cut away!

Almost looks like the driver is looking down...texting?
I think the big, red light-and-buzzer warning just came on in the cluster.
Christopher Herwig has a whole book (er, two apparently) of Soviet bus stops. They're amazing. I wonder how they came to be such a riot of wild designs. I wonder whether that's covered in the book...

Based on how bright his face is, I bet he's using his brow as a sunshade.
