...but should.

I admittedly don't know many Canadian bands but I should and it seemed like a good thread idea.

I'll start with The Weakerthans, also the solo work from John K Samson.

The Bourbon Tabernacle Choir. No longer together, alas, but a great live band and they’ve released their entire catalog on their site. If only all bands would do that when they shut down. Kate and Chris - the two singers - still have solo careers going.

Truck got stuck and German Motoraad are good Corb tunes too.

Old time rock, April Wine was a go to for me in high school.

Jim Cuddy, with or without Blue Rodeo.

Great big Sea for Newfie rock.

Ruth Moody with or without The Wailin Jennys for folky stuff. Check Ruth's cover of Dancing in the Dark.

I have tried to convince every aged group of guys reliving their youth in a garage band to learn that song.

Gordon Lightfoot sang the Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald.  He is shown as starting in the business in 1958.

Lighthouse formed in 1968 in Toronto, Ontario.  I saw them in concert when they came to my college

Great band. And every time you go to a concert, you will meet someone you haven’t seen in years. If you like their stuff, there’s Natalie McMaster for some top shelf Cape Breton fiddling

Since we’re looking back a few years, The Planet Smashers are a fun ska band from Montreal and The Shuffle Demons are...difficult to describe. One album is called Bop Rap and that kinda sums it up.
