It's like a glimpse into the life of an entirely different species of automobile enthusiast.
This AW11 actually looks ashamed of itself. And it was one of the more "tasteful" ricer-abortions!

I just looked through the first page of that thread. I feel like I'm from a different planet than most of those people. I know that I don't drive the fastest or most stylish cars, but what the berkeley?
We'll make up for it this weekend at the Import/Kit event.

wait a minute is that a Gti-R in the background of one shot? almost redeems the other abominations - if you're gonna put all that crap on your car, at least make a good job of it.

There are two things missing from that show:
- Performance
- Style

Wow I thought this was the import show. I was wondering why I didn't see these sweet ride last year at the import show, and then I looked it up,and the import show is this week. Those are some sad looking cars.

It's like 1999 all over again...
The bodywork on that terrible white thing looks really well done. Someone paid a LOT of money to ruin that car.

I went to that show with my 24 year old son, because he was more interested in it than the Import/Kit show 2 weeks later. While there was a lot of stuff that didn't suit my 58 year old tastes, there were a lot of very nice cars that weren't so over the top. They were probably ones belonging to kids with less money , or different priorities. I saw a lot of "lesser" cars that I would gladly drive. There were some interesting and tasteful engine swaps. I talked to a few kids about their suspension mods that looked good and should handle well. I was encouraged by some of the "grassroots" stuff that I saw on several cars. There seems to be a movement away from the 20" wheels, back to 15" and 16" ones, that IMHO look better proportioned. Now, if they'd just get rid of the dropped air bags and 4" fart cans,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

I went last year. I don't think I'll ever be going back. God it was a bad show. Even worse than the truck show.

These cars are beyond description but I do admit the original poster did a pretty fantastic job! The sad Jonny 5 eyes was the best.
I won't be able to attend the Carlisle event this weekend.
I was really thinking of heading down for it too but I just saw a hill climb event not two hours from me the same weekend. Win.
Somebody PLEASE take bunches of pictures so I may live vicariously through you! I promise to do the same for the hillclimb. -

THANK YOU! I'm kinda fed up with the Ford event and really wanted to try a different one - this seemed like a logical step seeing as how I now have a Jaguar. Thank you so much!
