Couldn't find a good pic but the Diamler SP250 Dart always make me think of a catfish.

Back to the old windstars, the "angry/agressive face" looks better with new sharp lines, and look like E36 M3 with the older rounded styling

I cannot find a picture for the life of me, but there's a late 70s or 80s Toyota of some kind where the taillights slant downward into the license plate thinger, and when I was really young I called them "angry face cars." They always looked angry, or like Mr. Yuck.

Well, if we're going to give the styling inspirations, here's the first thing I thought of immediately after seeing the Mercedes SLR...

What a perfect post for the Neon "hi." picture, since the kind, friendly face of the 1st gen Neon was one of the things that attracted me to the car in the first place. Now I have 4 of 'em, in various states of repair. This is to say: never underestimate the power of a friendly face.
Duke beat me to the punch, though. Well done!
I was thinking the same thing

Yeah it's a nice car, I really like the computer dash. I'd like mine in dark blue though, so it won't look like I'm driving a sperm cell around :P

Actually, I think they specifically went with white for a reason. I think it was due to heating/cooling so the climate control could be more efficient (or something like that).
I think it would look cool in yellow... or maybe do a 2-tone job akin to what might be on an airplane. Difference color for the wheel wells, and maybe a stripe.
I think that, right now, this looks like the best competitor for the X-Prize. Seems like it has the best fit and finish of any I've seen yet.

Found another one:
"I'm quite proud of myself"
Found a good color scheme for the Aptera also:

Composite aircraft are almost always painted white to minimize the reduction in strength experienced from resin softening caused by the sun's heating. IIRC, pure white will only cause a few degree increase in temperature over ambient and composite material can be weakened as much as 15% from the sun's heating.
