Anyone dealt with CarsDirect? Is the Email/Fax blast a better way to go?

Wasn't really in the market for a new truck, but just for fun, I was on CarsDirect the other day. Looks like I could get a new 2008 Chevrolet C1500 Extended cab for under $14000.

I must admit I'm tempted. I bought a regular cab for my son and I to travel to kart tracks in, but I'm starting to realize it would be nice to toss some of our stuff in the back and keep it dry and locked up.

To clear up questions early....

1) Yes, I could buy used, but not for that price.
2) What if GM goes bankrupt? Big deal, they're warranty business probably won't change. 3) I am looking at the V6 stripped model with just A/C and Cruise. We don't need anything more than that.

A friend of a friend bought a tundra through carsdirect. Although the truck has been a total piece, he claims they were awesome to work with and he got a good deal.

My friend bought his S4 through carsdirect.com back in 2001, not sure how their service is today.

I've gotten quotes from them(on their main page) then taken that to the dealer thrown it down and said give me that car for that price.

and they will quickly.

Cars Direct sells the leads to the dealer. You are better off contacting the dealer directly. If you buy through cars direct the dealer needs to pay them a few hundred, that will be passed on somehow.

exactly.. so my no hassle no haggle is printing out their page and walking in and then not moving from that price.

FWIW, their price was $1500 over what I paid @the dealer for my new Mazda3.

Thanks for the advice.

I figured that CD wasn't the cheapest option out there, but wanted to confirm.

If I pull the trigger on this (still on the fence), I'll probably do the email blast to all dealers within 100 miles. Especially since I live in Texas, so Chevy truck dealers are as common as Starbucks, and I want a 2008 model and I don't know which dealers still have them in stock.
