The stores here have had decorations up for over a month, now. It's gotten where I almost don't notice anymore unless one is especially overboard. The only way the above picture could have been better would be if the neighbors had put up "Griswolds" or "Attention Whores".

Sorry, its just all the pent up frustration at the early Christmas stuff in stores...

I had a craving for those pumpkin shaped candy corn things the other day and went looking thinking they'd still be out for Thanksgiving. Nope all the Halloween stuff was gone and replace with all Christmas crap. Sheesh....

I'm looking forward to buying a pre-lit fake tree.

I've been trying to convince my wife to let me do a Greaseman Christmas tree one year.

Live tree, decorated with cheap decorations and lights. Day after Christmas you throw the whole thing out to the curb, lights, balls and all. No fuss, no muss!

That about sums up everything that is wrong with Christmas/America right there. I'm assuming you said that sarcastically, but that's about the summary of how consumeristic the holiday's and American spending habits have become overall.

Speakiking of buying new lights, Home Depot has a deal going for a few more days where they are accepting your old (or new) incandescent lights and giving you $3 off a set of new LED ones (limit 5).

If you do decide to decorate early, or have friends who have already decorated, I am sure this little guy would appreciate it: Decorate for Dax
