personally.. I always through Chrysler was suicidal. They take popular cars.. sometimes even good looking ones.. and stop making them to build ugly cars that nobody wants

I think it was German revenge on Jeep for WW2.

Man, I've been wanting to tell you guys this for SOOO LOOONG! I've been seeing these in "mule" form for months and months and finally seeing the completed versions a month or so ago. It looks good, better than the Alfa IMO. That alfa has an ugly front end.

I know the feeling. I have a good friend who's doing some engineering on the Fiat MultiAir engines and reports great things.
Prediction- An AWD, SRT enhanced Dart will finally be an American-badged WRX fighter. Maybe. Around 2014.

I would love it if you are right, but the insider predictions I got concerning the alleged Caliber SRT were along those lines, and dead wrong.

Man, it's really hard. I remember, back when Ford was working on the retro 'stang. I saw a 3-D rendering (printed it up, it's in my tool box still) 18 months before I'd even seen a part or anything. Man, it was tough to keep my trap shut.
I have a feeling the Dart will be what the Caliber never was. I think the SRT version is gonna kick some but. Gilles wouldn't have it any other way. -

I, for one, could care less if Chrysler went totally out of business. They've made one good car since the early '90s, and that's the Viper. And it's only good because it's got an 8.5 liter V10 and a real transmission and rear tires that look like steamrollers. They haven't made anything good-looking, reliable, anything that handles well, or anything at all remotely interesting since the 2.2 Turbo days. The only thing they do slightly well is minivans, and even those are junk next to a Sienna, Odyssey, or even a Sedona.

It was purely industrial anal-rape. Daimler was broke with no new products being developed and no money to develop them with. chrysler had cash and credit. Fast forward a few years, Chrysler is broke, credit maxed out and MB has new products in development. I thought it was common knowledge.

It's astonishing how much wrong is in that small little paragraph.

The RWD platform gave Chrysler a pretty big shot in the arm in the 2000's, and they pretty much took over police sales from Ford.

Indeed.. especially considering how loved the Neon is in these parts.

The Neon I felt had brought back the American small car. I still see mid 90's models everywhere. The ACR and R/T were awesome little cars.
