I was just commenting on the Berlin Zoo after visiting in 2005. A waist high rail and then wild animals. I said how this would never fly in the US as one of our idiots would jump in the first day. That's too bad.

Sadly this isn't even the first time. Some guy jumped into the enclosure last year because he thought one of the bears wanted a hug. No joke. We don't have vapid tree-hugging hippies here, we have vapid bear-hugging hippies.
I have to say, I highly encourage hugging bears to anyone who thinks it's a good idea to do so. -

Last year, some kid thought it would be a good idea to taunt the big cats at the LA Zoo. Now he is dead. I'm wondering what he thought of his idea as the cat (lion or tiger. Can't remember which) was sinking its jaws into his neck.
