So I got an Asus eee PC. The mouse pad keeps doing this stupid scrolling and zooming thing when I am just trying to move the mouse around. How do I turn this off/ can I turn this feature off?

It should be limited to the sides of the mouse pad and be limited to certain areas that are indicated.

You may be able to change it by going into your system settings, but to give you specific directions we'd need to know which OS it's running (XP or Win 7).

On mine the only time it does the zoom/scroll thing is when you touch and tap at the same time using two fingers. It's fairly easy to do it accidentally if you are in the habit of resting all your fingers below the keyboard. Mine is running XP.

Windows 7 and it isn't limited. Once it is turned on it won't turn off.

look at bottom right icon tray (stuff running in background)... look for the one that looks like a touchpad with 2 buttons under it right click and click on the device properties...

find the device settings tab and hit settings... and you should be able to find how to adjust/disable it...

but truth be told... i'd go to the Asus web page and install the newest drivers...

    In reply to donalson:

Ok I changed a bunch of settings. Hopefully that fixed it.

always fun to figure out your ideal settings... moving to a new computer (especially laptop) is a PITA to get everything set to your likings :)... hopefully you fixed your prob... if it continues update your driver :)
