Avoid the C3 one by Sears. Quite disapointing.

Crud. Recently bought a drill and 1/2" drive impact wrench, which I'm happy enough with (though I did have to break out the pneumatic impact once...). Now that I'm tied to that battery, bummer the 1/4" unit is sucky...

Any one have experience with Ryobi? I have multiple of their tools, like them, and think I might get the driver.

My friend has a makita... He says past a certain point, it goes from being like a normal dril motor, to impact. Correct?

    Also, I have a dewalt 14v impact, but it's 1/2 drive. It's awesome.

This thread caused me to go and look at them at Home Depot today. The Ryobi is more of a basic average joe type tool, where as the Makita, DeWalt, Milwaukee, etc. are contractor grade tools. I will probably buy the Ryobi in a few weeks.

I bought my Milwaukee set at Home Depot. The salesman there said Ryobi is a great tool for people who don't use them. I had previously done a LOT of Googling, and Milwaukee came out with the ~most~ positive feedback from others. Makita was a very close second. Bosch was good. Dewalt seemed hit-or-miss. But I really didn't find anything negative about Milwaukee. And yes, your "American" Milwaukee is made in China.

Honestly, you need to go to the display rack and gently caress all the tools. One will call your name - buy that one.
