I need a small, portable device that is not a phone to record for about 1 hour every week. It needs to be fairly good quality sound and needs to have a built in speaker. I need enough memory to store about 50 hours of recording. Anyone have any suggestions on what I should get?

Zoom H4. About $250-$300, built-in speaker, small enough to fit in your pocket, built in X-Y microphone pattern, slot for an SD card, so theoretically it has a capacity of 32GB or the biggest SD card you can find. Can also do 24/96 high-quality recording too, if you're into really eating up memory for no real reason

That sure looks like it would do it. I was hoping to not spend that kind of money though. Anything other way that might be a little cheaper? When I say good quality sound, I don't mean high fidelity, just that if I put it down next to me in a room with another person, that when I play it back I'll be able to hear both of us clearly.

I was going to recommend the Zoom H2 if you wanted something a bit less but it doesn't have an internal speaker, neither does the H1. They are the gold standard in this type of device.
This Tascam one looks like a quality piece of equipment and does have a built in speaker. $83 too! Review look good, read some and see if any of the complaints would bother you.
