An inexpensive night out, food, beer, movie, what's not to like?
Have you seen these before? If I retire and look for a hobby, is this it?

we used to have a local place like that named Mugs and Movies...second-run movies for $1.50 admission, with similar foods and prices that made most of the profits.
We used to have a local place called Mugs and Juggs.
It wasn't a pottery store.
OK, I'm in! Sounds like fun....
I'll assume that was in response to Dan, not to transmaro
Avoids "dinner and a show" reference.
We had a place exactly like this called Chunky's
dinner and a movie is what my drivers suit says... a cast off Wally Dallenbach crew member suit

We have a couple of those places around the Chicagoland area.

I'll take two
I learned two things the one time I went to a place like this, called the "Cinema Pub", it was great.
Don't order something messy. I thought chili cheese fries would be a good idea. Turns out that eating those in the dark makes a mess of a white shirt.
If it is a good/intense/complicated movie, having a few beers will put you in a rough spot. We saw Inception, and if you miss 30 seconds of that, you've lost the story, so Chrissy was just dancing in her seat waiting for it to be over.

me too...
hey, two "fives" make a "ten" in my book. I think a few of those may be closer to "sevens" by the looks of things
Now, lets see here.... 7 plus 7..... Does anyone have a fingers I could borrow?
There are a couple in the Minneapolis area. I went to one of them and had a good time - the food wasn't fancy (burgers, pizza, etc.) but they served beer and soft drinks, and besides tables and chairs there were some sofas with coffee tables set up as well.

(looks at time posted)
Everything just became much clearer! 3/4 of those chicks wouldn't get a second look working here in the service industry in Alberta....
Oh yea, and alcohol, lowering standards since its creation!
