I'd shom up by bus, If Mr. Fancypants can afford a rental car he doesn't need my job.

I've heard stories that would probably change the way you think :). I won't tell it here because it's not my story and legal action is probably still pending...

Once in Phoenix, we rented a jeep for "self guided" tours of trails and stuff. We got about halfway down some gravel road (the directions tell you to stop and put it in 4wd high when leaving the pavement...sheesh!) to some scenic site when we noticed a trail going more or less...up. we took that one instead. It was a fun day. We didn't tear anything up, nor did we try to...but it was a great way to have fun on an idle day before a race weekend.

I typically start my conversation with the folks at the rental counter with "Can I have one that's already wrecked? Because that would probably be best for me."

    Some like it...some don't.

Rental car companies will provide liability insurance and most charge extra do not buy a car without a certificate. If you already have auto insurance make sure that the policy has adequate liability coverage for a rental car. Although many away from the idea of purchasing a rental car for their own personal use it can sometimes be a good deal and a great way.

Does the new board have it's first canoer?
