I suppose it's bound to happen to any of us that use eBay. I bought a CD on half.com (I'm one of those stone-age dudes who doesn't have an MP3 player.) Several were available, but this one was the best deal, and the seller had a good rating, though not many sales. I generally prefer to buy from individuals over businesses.

Anyway, after a couple of weeks and no CD, I attempted to contact the seller, but was prompted by ebay not to as "media mail could take up to (some ungodly number of weeks) to ship." After a month, I contacted the seller. No reply.

I re-checked the seller's feedback, and apparently, over that 30 day period, he screwed a bunch of other people too. I filed a claim with ebay yesterday, and left the seller negative feedback. Anything else I should be doing? I don't have personal credit cards, so like a dumbass, I used my debit card for the purchase.

Call the cops in the jurisdiction where the seller is (assuming you can figure out where the seller is).

On a related note, an accused capital murderer was nabbed this week in Houston because a finger print on the tape used to bind the victim matched up with fingerprints taken when the accused was booked for theft after ripping off a guy on ebay.

people are such scumbags. Sorry to hear that dude. I recently had some dude buy a book from me on half.com. In the description I said that the book cover was a misprint saying it was the international edition but it wasn't. Dude flipped a E36 M3, e-mailed me, wanted a refund ASAP. I told him to double check the book with someone elses just to prove to him, if he wasn't satisfied with that I told him to send it back to me with a tracking number and once I saw that I would give him half of the money back then upon arrival i would give him the rest. I got a bogus tracking number and never got a book. Told half.com and USPS. Half.com banned the guys user name and got my money back, USPS said they were going to go after him for using a faulty tracking number for a transaction through paypal

Ugh. Yeah, I'm trying not to be too harsh on the dude. After all, he might be dead or in jail or something. Haven't heard squat back from eGhey yet. I'll know better than to use a debit card again.
