    Your Escort and a trailer.

Being a fwd wagon, your Escort does a darn good job of having some room, going places it should go (with the right tires), and getting good gas mileage.

When you want to carry a lot of stuff, pull a trailer with that stuff on it. Like a 4x8 Harborfreight trailer. Yes, mileage will go down, but only when you're pulling that trailer.

Nope, at least not here, don't know about other markets.

    In reply to 92CelicaHalfTrac:

Toyota Van was the first thing I thought of. The 2WD might be able to crack 30 MPG, but I doubt the 4WD would. However, if you can find one, they are incredibly maneuverable, relatively easy to lift a couple of inches (torsion bar front suspension/coil spring rear), and actually quite small, but roomy.

I've been keeping an eye out for one in Ohio for a while now, but haven't seen a 4WD one for sale. As I understand, most of the 4WD Vans were originally sold in the PNW.

I'll add 95-99 Subaru Outback. You won't get 30 MPG, but you'll probably get close. I usually get 27 in my non-outback legacy, unless I've been rallycrossing.
