Hey y'all I know we got folks from all walks of life on this board and I know a few of you must have had some odd jobs here and there to help pay for projects. I'm finding myself in that boat right now if I really want to finish the Olds over the summer. Full time jobs are rare as hens teeth around here unless you are in the medical field. I did find one of the local dealers looking for a parts person that I am going to try for though they may not work around my minimal school sched at the moment (an hour a day on campus except wed when im there 2 hours).

In all honesty I do not need that much more money a month to complete the project (benefits of owning home and all cars outright). I also have a ton of work I need to do on my house, my shop and my mom's house as well so the more home time I can get the better. That being the case I have thought about either picking up a motor paper route or some other part time delivery job or the like. Any recomendations or suggestions? What sorts of odd jobs have ya'll done to help finish a project?

Any golf courses near you? They are always hiring about now. Caddy gig is the best if they have it.

Local college campuses? Chinese food delivery.

I made BANK doing that. Hundreds a day. Wish I was still doing it some days.

Yeah there is a campus here though it is basically shut down over the summer and only does online classes and the like. Had not thought of chinese delivery in fact I think one of the places just started doing delivery and another I'm a regular at so on friendly terms with the owners.

Nope I don't think I could swing a AVON gig lol. And no golf course around here unless you count mini golf run out behind some old couples house.

If I was in better shape and wanted full time our local railroad is hiring signal helpers for $22 an hour.

u know surprisingly the top person in my district is a guy that looking at him youd think he didnt know the meaning of personal grooming whatsoever! but his website is booming.

There's an insurance company out there called Primerica that you might want to look into. They do financial services as well. You have to be licensed, but they'll typically help get you licensed. Our RVP helped my wife get her life insurance license. We personally know people that do really well with it.

If you deliver anything, don't carry much cash, make your stops quick, know escape routes and carry a weapon.

It's dangerous out there. I have been robbed at gunpoint, it sucks.

Saying you're available at any hour of the day an/or any day of the week helps. It worked for me.

when I delivered pizza (6 years total) when I finally started keeping strict track of everything it came out to 14-15/hr gross... so not including gas/tax and that kind of stuff... not bad for the work involved...

Mow lawns. A guy in my neighborhood does a dozen or so houses and makes between 20-40 per lawn.

Bar-back at a bar. I did this as a 2nd job and it was fun. Just dont spend that nights earnings at the bar.

Or clean gutters, (so long as you don't mind climbing on roof tops.) I made excellent money doing this for a little while. $70/house, split between two people, for generally less than an hours work.

Find an overnight job at a group home of some sort. Some have awake positions, some have sleep... but for whatever reason, no one wants to work at night. Had a part time one of those gigs for over a year now, and it's just enough extra bread to keep me happy.

The mowing lawns one I have thought of though right now my mower is dead and I'm trying to fix it so even my lawn looks like crap. Though there are multiple houses right on my street that hire out for lawn care.
