Does anyone here have it yet?

The release date has been advertised as both the 21st, and the 22nd, so I went yesterday, assuming I would be disappointed and I was. So the 22nd rolls around, and I assume I will be coming home happy.

I went out at lunch to buy it. No worries, there is a gamestop just down the street.

Gamestop says, the release date they have is the 23rd, but none will be showing up in tomorrows shipment. Predictably, Walmart and Target employees have no idea what I am talking about. I figure, if anyone has it, it has to be Best Buy, so I drive the additional 20 minutes over to BB, and they don't have a clue about it either.

Where the hell do I get it? I guess I will have to order it from Amazon with overnight shipping to get any kind of satisfaction...

    Anyone had any luck?

the best part is that when a BB employee looked it up in the computer (after I explained what F1 2010 meant), it showed that none had been delivered, and that the website was BACKORDERED for 2-3 weeks! How does a multi billion dollar corporation not order enough of a game to supply even one store on release day?

Glad I went ahead and setup my new (new to me anyway) set of drums this evening after work than going, again, to the local gamestop.

Same thing pisses me off about the HTC EVO 4G. They were released in June, in MOTHERBERKELEYING JUNE! And I still can't walk into the store and buy one.

Frickin' Amazon is "temporarily out of stock", you can't even have Gamestop ship it to a store...

I ended up getting a copy from Gamestop.com overnighted to my work, and I STILL won't get it 'til frickin' Friday!

Gamestop stores got their shipments today around 1. I have mine in my hands right now, and when I get home, i will give you an update on how wicked awesome it is!

I'm assuming you already the wet and dry laps around Spa? The graphics look intense!

I probably won't pick it up til this weekend.

They don't hold the F1 license any more. F1 2010 is a multiplatform release that was handled by Codemasters, the same people behind Grid and Dirt. They even did an F1 2009 game for the Wii and I think the DS.

Unfortunately, until this sport is as popular as Nascar, don't expect many store employees to know what it is.

So far this game has been getting good reviews. It's out for PC, PS3 and 360 for anyone that's interested.

And to be honest, I buy almost all of my games online these days.

Okay, I said I would be back with a review. I have waded through a few online reviews trying to find the right words to day, and I believe videogamer.com got it right.

    <em>videogamer.com said:

Overtaking needs to be challenging; an ongoing struggle where even the smallest advances up the field should take time. In all too many games you can jump from 21st to 1st in a single lap, but F1 2010 faithfully recreates the difficulty of overtaking, the thrill of the chase.

combined with "real time" weather changes, and the "ego" programming that pits you against "championship rivals" and changes the way they race you based on their opinions of you, it is by far, the best racing game I have ever played, and I have not even gotten to online play yet.

I heard the EGO thing was pretty intense, I may pick it up this weekend.

No offense, but I hate it when people do this. Because, yeah, being able to afford a $60 game is the same as being able to afford a race car, tow rig, entry fees, tire and other consumable costs..... I auto-x. I attend HPDE's. And, because I cannot realistically afford to go racing on any kind of consistent basis, I play racing games.

What you said is very true for most people and I don't think anyone would argue otherwise but I do believe the smiley with the winking eye means it was mostly in jest.

Werd! As a someone who is only a year out of college, and more debt than I care to think about, I can barely justify the 5 or 6 hundred I have in my xbox stuff, but 30 grand or more for a season of racing with any series, let alone any high level open wheel cars.

Well, heck, if there is no offense, then let me give more advice. Get a second job during the time you are playing video games, sell the gaming equipment, and there is your racing budget. Quite simple, really.

And yes, many people have told me I'm a knob.

so the overtaking is realistic? like, only in the pits?
