Woke up at what my phone said was 8:00AM. I'd been out drinking last night, so figured that it was right, and was feeling pretty good. Turn on the computer and find out that my phone is wrong, and it is really 7:00! It is going to be a great day.

Oh, I disagree. For that one little hour you gained they are now going to turn that big light in the sky off early for what seems like the next 6 months. I actually refer to this as the worst day of the year and the day in the spring as the greatest day of the year where they turn that light back on. To me there is nothing better than late June around here where that light is on until about 10pm!

Big light in the sky is still on for the same amount of time... Just get up earlier

Getting up for work this morning at 6 (now 5) didn't seem like an extra hour was enough.

Can we all just agree that daylight savings is a little stupid and that we're actually back to normal time now? Look at the bright side though- it's light in the morning again.

Normal time is stupid and daylight savings time should be the standard.

Most of my work is done outside, so it sucks when it gets dark at 4pm every day and I don't get done until 6:30.

During my first internship, I had to get up early, and normally stayed a bit late. Our offices were in the middle of a production plant, with no windows to the outside. If I packed a lunch, there would be days when I would get to work when it's dark, and leave when it was dark without ever seeing the sun. That was a bit depressing.

And the further north you go the worse it is. Cabin fever is a very real ill up north.

I am not looking forward to doing that for the next few months. Makes going out to lunch worth the cash, just to see the sun.

Go to work in the dark, come home in the dark. It sucks. Put the extra daylight toward the evening so we can get some use of it.

My first on-track session today w/ NASA @ Summit Point wasn't 'til 10:38. I figured I'd sleep in 'til 7:45, out the door at 8, coffee, bagel, get there at 9:45 easy, plenty of time to get the car ready and suit up before 1st call.

I got up, got out of the shower, dressed, grabbed my gear bag and keys - at which point my rolls over and asks "you fell back, right?"

    D'oh.

So for the first and only time ever, I lingered in the coffee shop eating my bagel and having a second cup while reading the Sunday paper for the better part of my extra hour of sleep, all before driving to West-by-god Virginia.
