I remember the first time I had blood taken. The nurse came in and said, "Have you ever had blood drawn before?" I said "No, this is my first time." She didn't miss a beat and replied, "What a coincidence! This in my first time too!"

Phlebotomist? Wow. Does that mean that you work with phlebitis patients?

My mom was a phlebotomist. Whenever my brother or I got a bad cold when we were growing up, she'd draw our blood in the morning, take it to work and test us for strep or something.

Unfortunately, she never bothered to wake us up first because "that's the way it's done in the hospital". I always seemed to wake up just after the needle went into my arm.

What's the difference between a Phlebotomist and a Urologist?

    One pricks your finger...

I wish I could still donate blood but once they got all worried about mad cow I stopped being eligible (6+ months associated with a military base in Germany during the 80's)
