Now I know why you'all live in Florida.

The Outlaws, Molly Hatchet, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Charlie Daniels, ZZ Top, & The Allman Brothers.

I guess I am thinking about our annual work convention in Orlando the week before the Rolex 24 hour race. Since my boss went to a Skynryd bar/museum in Jacksonville three years ago, I joked about going to the Molly Hatchet museum in Gainesville (which I made up)

So is a Molly Hatchet Museum? Man I miss that style of music.

    Gator Country

Somebody made the mistake of saying the MC word when I got the black Corrado. I reminded them I'd been driving sports cars my whole life.

IIRC, that's actually my sig line on vwvortex...

I really meant that awesome Southern Rock sound.

I was at a Outlaws and ZZ Top concert at Alpine Valley in Wisconsin. Man I miss the 1980's.

ZZ Top, AKA "Three shiny happy persons From Texas."

They played at my friend's high school prom. They had a couple extra guys in the band at that time, but that was them. Before they got big.

Southern Rock is the be all and end all of music. Well, maybe not all, but damn close. But...

I went to a ZZ Top concert several years ago. The lead band was Lynyrd Skynyrd. Skynyrd was great. ZZ, go buy the album, cause in concert they sucked. I don't know if it was the end of the tour, or they just stayed up all night brushing their beards, but major suckage was happening. Pissed me right the hell off too, cause I love their music.

I saw ZZ Top about 15 years ago with George Thorogood. I had a great time but I have terrible taste in music. We did have "crappy" seats off to the side by the speakers where you could see the girls changing between songs.

The Allman Brothers "Big House" museum will be opening soon in Macon, Georgia. It's housed in an old Tudor home where they lived back in the 70s when Capricorn Records was having it's heyday.

As a life long Macon resident, I could tell stories of that era that would make you cry, cringe, and praise the Lord for the glory of Southern Rock. I won't tell them on here, though, because half of them sound like I'm bragging and the other half I'm not necessarily proud of. Sort of.

It was the 70s, and certain allowances are called for.

ZZ Top and the Outlaws on the same stage? I just read an interview with Billy Gibbons... apparently he's ok with Skynyrd, but just mentioning the Outlaws will make his blood boil...
