Coming to a shop near you? With rumored Ecotec boosted down the line I suppose. A turbo four would be fun for a lot of projects....

Edit: 12.0 compression? Would that mean 93 octane or worse only?

not if it is a direct injection engine.

Edit: is there any difference at all between the Skyactiv and the Ford engine?

Having looked them both up, they are not the same engine- same basic technolgy- direct injection, vct, high compression, etc- they have totally differerent bore/stroke- assuming the web pages are correct.

Ineresting crate motor. Not exactly tuner friendly, nor it's a particularly attractive engine.... hmm.

the numbers arent even that good imo. the korean 2.0 direct injected engine makes 200/200 ish. with lower compression.
They could have uncomplicated the whole thing by making the same power with less compression and mpi instead.

If i have read I could from friends that attended PRI, that motor is for a spec racing series more then anything. Then the EcoBoost version is for real crate motor swaps.

So it's related to the new Formula Ford I recently saw? I thought it was going to be the non DI engine, but it would make sense that it's the spec motor for FF... Interesting.

I would assume 160 to 175hp, all aluminum.. and clean. You can probably get more HP out of it.. but the emissions out of this engine will suffer
