You sure can tell peoples age by their responses Rockford files, for sure. Get Smart, Green acres, and all the cartoon classics like Rocky, and Bullwinkle. There was a local kids show (early 70's)featuring a multitude of characters, almost all played by the same guy called The hilarious house of Frightenstein. Its back on, on the retro channel. Its brilliant.

Laugh-In late at night, Bullwinkle, all the Sid and Marty Kroft stuff like Lidsville, HR Puff-n-Stuff, Sigmund and the Sea Monsters, old Scoobie Doo before they added special guests and Scrappy, Lancelot Link-Secret Chimp (think Get Smart with chimpanzees). The Munsters, Addams Family, Beverly Hillbillies, ABC Wide World of Sports, Superstars, SuperTeams..... loved them all.

Emergency, A-team, Muppets, Dukes, Chips, Not Neccesarily the News, Newhart. and Motorweek, the Dave Dispain one, not the PBS one.

Nutherjrfan, I would tend to agree with your friends. My wife loves charmed, but I can only watch about three minutes at a time, alone. Mmmm Allyssa Milano.

I liked many of the things mentioned earlier (e.g. airwolf, A-team) but I'm surprised that none of you have mentioned Riptide, Magnum P.I., MacGyver, or Hardcastle and McCormick (I used to think the coyote X was the coolest car ever....)

Rat Patrol, starring Vic Morrow, was one of my favorties. I'd love to see that one again.

My kids (ages 13 and 15) seem to like the old sitcoms, like Hogan's Hero's, Happy Days, etc.

    Baxter, you are on drugs.

    Jack

Vic Morrow starred in Combat not Rat Patrol.

A few years ago I was watching Pee Wee's Playhouse, and noticed there's a picture of J.R. "Bob" Dobbs. Who knew that Pee Wee is a Subgenius?

Is that what they're calling it in Indiana?

I was the kid who knew that they build a special mid-engine truck for the jump scenes in "The Fall Guy" and how many General Lee's were used for the show.

    Favorite Muppets scene?

Kermit: "Did animal get something to eat"
Floyd: "Sure man, like, he got a TV dinner"
Kermit: "Did he remember to cook it?"
Floyd: "Cook it? He didn't even unplug it!"
(cut to animal eating a television set)

I figured as much, but just in case I thought it would be a good time to spread the word of Bob.

Two pages of favorite shows and “Land Of The Lost” hasn’t been mentioned yet???

BTW, I used to work with the guy that did the truck jump in the Fall Guy intro….the 911 passing under the truck during the jump was his own DD. No family at the time so his thinking was that if he botched the jump, the 911 would be irrelevant.

Martin Woodhouse was the guy responsible for much of supercar http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Martin_Woodhouse#Supercar_Episodes He also wrote some pretty good novels. Think of Tom Clancy books, but written by someone who actually was an aeronautical engineer...lots of nerdy goodness

I watched Star Blazers religiously as a kid. I have the 3rd season (translated, but never broadcast in the US) on VHS. I think it has held up well. Btw, in the US version, the Yamato was called the Argo. I'm guessing that in the early 80's the name "Yamato" still may have been a 4-letter word to some WW2 vets. I'll have to seek out the newer movies.... although I have a love of anime that is currently in check and my wallet fears what would happen if I start looking at that stuff again.

By middle school and early high school, we got cable and MTV (this was back when they still played videos) and most of network TV took a back-burner... I also started watching a lot of PBS shows... Then I got my license, was rarely home, and didn't watch much TV at all...

When I was really young: Speed Racer, Ultraman, W-B and H-B cartoons, and so on... I watched most of the first few seasons of Dukes, but most of the episodes from the last seasons are new to me.

Oh, wow... when I was a kid I used to watch Get Smart, Man from UNCLE, Rocky and Bullwinkle, the original Scooby Doo, Disney when it was still black and white (that was the Sunday night signal that the weekend was almost done ), Top Cat, It's About Time (who else remembers that one?) and when I was a bit older the original Saturday Night Live, the first bunch (Belushi, Ackroyd, Curtin etc) will always be the best in my book. Also the original Star Trek, The Avengers (Diana Rigg... mmmmm.), The Saint, Mission: Impossible, Gilligan's Island, Green Acres, Rat Patrol, COMBAT!, The Twilight Zone (and Night Gallery a little later).

In my neck of the woods, Soul Train and American Bandstand marked the end of the Saturday morning kid's shows.
