GW is the greatest president we ever had. Why? Because he was able to walk away after two terms. There were people in this country who wanted to make him president for life. All of Europe was poised to see whether he would take us back to a de facto monarchy. Instead, he went back to the farm. GW is responsible for our ability to hand power from one elected official to another seamlessly.

This is almost as cool as "Epic Rap Battles of History."

Also, GW would be appalled at TR's foreign policy. He jacked up a war with Spain (the Maine's own boilers blew up), then colonized the Phillippines, resulting in the torture and death of thousands and thousands of Filipinos.
After being a colonial, GW would not foist that on anyone else, especially after they were colonized by Spain for the previous 300 years.
Don't get me started on Panama.

Smithsonian Magazine had a nice article on GW a couple of months ago. On his way to his inauguration in NY.. he made it a point to try not to add too much to the pomp and circumstance.
When he left Philly for Trenton.. he left at the break of dawn so as not to be escorted by by the local militia all decked out in full regallia and on white horses.
