All material stored in the Ft. Lauderdale Exec airport has to be removed by tomorrow, it is no longer available for relief flights. All moving to Opa Locka airport in Miami. Too bad, that's a great place. Opa Locka, not so much.

BONEHEADS AT BOTH ENDS OF THE PIPELINE DEPT:
NBC reports a shipment of hospital supplies was held up at the Port au Prince airport because of "taxes" that the airport manager was trying to collect. Glad to see the Haitian government is getting back to normal!
Also flights are suspended into FL because FL Gov Christ wonders how FL hospitals are going to get paid, if I'm understanding correctly.

That is the Florida State Government. We are NOT CONCERNED WITH THEM!! Our efforts are to get aid to where it is needed. I had heard rumors of Haitian gov types wanting to collect tarrifs, duties, etc. I truly wish that I could come face to face with one of those. My children, my grandchildren, my greatgrandchildren would tell stories about how Pops was killed trying to do good things. berkeley THEM!!

Did a radio interview at 8:30 this morning. It was interesting, and I think it went well. Only 5 minutes.

This is bizarre. I made contact on line with a guy in Eastern Washington State, part of a Methodist group. He has 100# of needed meds available in Ft. Pierce Florida, but no way to transport. 924 guy has volunteered to pick up and bring to FLX, where we can have on a plane in hours. I'm going to be busy tomorrow.

Svrex- Call me ASAP!! The guy in Washington now has 532# of med supplies they want to go to La Gonave. From Ft. Pierce FL airport. Need to talk to you. 924guy, unless you have a truck, might be a bit much for you. The adventure intensifies. Thank you all.

532# has become 592#. May have a plane to fly directly there and then to Nassau, then to La Gonave. I'm herding cats.

Bob Scott is a friend of mine. He was the cinematographer on the movies I filmed.
He is also a cinematographer for NASCAR.
He was also in Haiti with a camera running when the earthquake hit.
For those who don't understand, or want to see the personal side, he expresses it much better than I ever could:
It's long (about 15 minutes) but well worth it. If you are so inclined, the interview afterwords is worthwhile too.
