everythime one of those guys went down that slide, I feared for their armpits (the tops of the side panels were still 90 deg angles, which seemed like they would masacre the underarms if they werent tucked in fast enough)

Yea me too, I'm starting to think in between those 7 days to build if he was the test pilot. Possibly having a catastrophe and causing them to re-engineer the project...

Somewhere in my back issues of Sportscar, there's an issue with Travis on the cover, and a big article on how wonderful it is to have him in SCCA. It's going to be big for the club, it's going to be great for rally, we're finally gonna recruit young folks, yadayadayada.
SCCA bailed on PRO Rally the following year due to insurance costs.
OTOH, Travis did finally win the Rally America championship.
