I am getting teary eyed about leaving my doggy with my girlfriend for two weeks while I move... I can't imagine the strength it would take to say goodbye forever!

I wish you luck in these hard times.

Sorry for the loss but it's cruel to let them suffer & you had to do the right thing.

    And Dude-ette.
It is hard and I would like to say it gets easier but here I am two years since loosing my little buddy of 13 years and all I can say is that it has gotten a little better.
I have another dog here who is 15. Oh, how I do not want to deal with that!
I will say the little Carin Terrior we got 5 months ago has helped greatly.

    My best wishes

Looks like a Heeler, I miss mine everyday. The comfort is knowing he chose you to share his life with. It sounds like it was worth it to him.

I would say bless you for rescuing the guy, but he blessed you on his own.

    God speed Grey

Sorry to hear about Grey's departure, God Bless you for inviting Grey into your home !

Rescue dogs usually rescue us from ourselves in so many ways, my 15 yr old German-Shorthaired-Pointer ("Frau-Munder") gets another snuggle right now !

Grey would definitely fit the bill for an Australian Cattle Dog aka Red/Blue Heeler.

I work with these guys, Australian Cattle Dog Rescue Assocation. If you want to poke around the site feel free. It has lots of information and quite a few Happy Endings. Here's a link to the Happy Endings if you feel like reading any.

Sorry to hear about your guy going. I had to put down my red dawg last year. Sucked. Heelers bond really tightly with their people. It takes awhile to get over not having dog breath on the back of your leg when you walk through a dark room. They don't call them velcro dogs for nothing. Mine? He loved to eat too. The day he died he ate a full breakfast. That fat ass.

Hope you feel better soon. You did right by him.
